Relationship:
There must have been a close relationship between the John and Sarah Whittington family of Albemarle, Surrey County, Virginia and the Nathaniel Hood family. I have found baptismal records that list Elizabeth Hood as one of three Godparents of Ephraim Whittington, born March 29, 1758. Also Nathaniel Hood, Sarah Hood and Elizabeth Johnson were Godparents for Mary Jane Whittington at her Christening on April 13, 1747. Godparents generally had to be over fourteen and have a family relationship and proper training from the church.

Nathaniel HOOD (b. 24 Apr 1742, Albemarle, Surrey County, Virginia, m. Abt 1763; d.1811-,Johnston,North Carolina). Sarah YOUNG (b. Abt 1716, Albemarle Parish,Surrey (This seems mixed up, Sarah Young would have been too old to have Nathaniel Hood 1742’s children) Birth date of Nathaniel also appears to be wrong.
